My Projects

Here are a few of my personal projects, outside of my work experience, that I have created from my personal time and educational work

Hole in the Wall (Work in Progress)

Hole in The Wall is a mobile application that connects a user to their nearby small businesses. Using filters to aid in a user's search for their desired product or service, our application groups businesses nearby under multiple categories and tags. This mobile application encourages users to be more present with their surrounding community, support the local communities they travel to, and feel more at home where ever they may be.

This project started as a school project where we were asked to create a website and create low fidelity and high fidelity wire frames for it. I worked completely alone on this project, though it was suggested to be a group assignment. My honest reason for that was because I wanted to be able to learn all of the elements of this project when given this opportunity.

This included students doing a lot of research in Information Architecture and explaining why everything was structured the way it was. I have had an idea for this application and have always wanted to dive deeper into app design, so I asked my professor if I was allowed to do this project with a mobile app layout's design rather than a website. I was given permission and started researching the elements of a mobile app and thinking about the way I would structure this.

This was my first time designing a mobile app from scratch, so I was proud of my outcome. However, there are many things I learned and many things I would change and further study in order to perfect it. Though I made this from scratch using my mind, reference images, and Adobe Illustrator, I would probably try to remake this using a program like Figma. I would do this since I think these other programs like Figma would allow for the presentation of the app to look more legitimate. I would also conduct more user research, allowing users to have a hands-on navigation experience and recording their responses on how it went and what they liked and didn't like. I would observe what would confuse them and what would peak their interest. Overall, I enjoyed this project greatly and would love to have more future experiences and opportunities like this.

Kraft Covers Library + Tostee Cafe

Both of these projects were completely separate from one another, yet similar in the prompts: "Create a fake business' website." Tostee Cafe was my first attempt in my introductory course with HTML & CSS.

Tostee Cafe was an assignment where we practiced integrating out own elements of design (to which I used multiple of my own graphics throughout the web page for design purposes) and interactive systems. We were expected to practice in structuring forms, linking social media and phone numbers, linking pages, and more.

Kraft Covers Library was where I began to use my own knowledge and try to break boundaries of using other languages or further customizations.

Kraft Covers Library was a project that I also used many personal graphics for in order to stylize. I was able to learn more about CSS in this page design, though we were advised to start with a template in this project. Normally, we started from scratch. This allowed me to learn how to navigate customizations in links, buttons, etc. We also practiced PHP and I decided to use it within the "Services" page. Unfortunately, the hosting server has since expired as it was a part of a student-paid program.

Both webpages are made entirely of code.

Mock Resume

I was in a class where I was being taught and also practicing HTML and CSS coding. We worked on a project within our class in creating a resume page. The resume page, which can be seen to the left, has both internal and external styling sheets. The page is also combined by an index.html file that allows for both the page and the "menu" to be shared on the screen continuously throughout navigating the pages.

Our E-Portfolio project was an assignment where we practices using floating boxes, fixed headers, a three-panel CSS style design to organize our page, image maps, and practicing anchor links within our code.

Both webpages are made entirely of code.

Delight Whitening

Working with Delite Whitening has consisted of taking on the responsibility as a marketing intern. I have not only created video content for their social media, worked with editing photos of their products for aesthetic purposes, but I've also had hands-on experience in their website design. While they had already had the website created before I joined the team, I was able to have the opportunity in re-designing the website, where I had not only appealing value in mind but also incorporated an easy - to - navigate and functional site.

Marked Essence

Creating my very own website for my brand, Marked Essence, has taught me a lot about website design. Not only have I learned to experiment and develop my own style, but it had also taught me to accommodate with our target audience. I've learned personal experiences with creating a shop, organizing our videos and apparel, writing content for each product and page, and keeping it simple and attractive at the same time. Through frequent updates and ideas, I've learned most of my website design and creation with my own company.
